Holly Golightly : "I'm in the right place but wrong time? That's how I feel everyday" 👌👌👌

Jack Evans : I've always felt that with Dolly Parton's original song, the message is that there is still a possibility she could keep her man from Jolene. Jack White performs the song as if it's already too late and that chills me

Hana : No lies if Jack White started a cult I would definitely join.

Joseph McDermott : I remember it was a theme in the 90s where if a man had to take a woman's song, he'd have to change the male-love subject to a female, and vice-versa. I'm glad Jack White just had the balls not to care if some 14 year old might think he's gay for singing true to the song.

Lika Tskitishvili : His voice goes to places no human voice should be able to go... I'm amazed

Charlie SideShow : THE version! The desperation, the humiliation, the drama! He really makes this his song! Love it!

Devil Marie : I would kill to be able to see that live.

B Ob Bob : I can't believe I went this long in life not knowing this existed. This is nothing short of amazing.

BLEΣΣED ZINES : Dolly Parton – Jolene Lyrics Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene I'm begging of you please don't take my man Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene Please don't take him just because you can Your beauty is beyond compare With flaming locks of auburn hair With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green Your smile is like a breath of spring Your voice is soft like summer rain And I cannot compete with you, Jolene He talks about you in his sleep There's nothing I can do to keep From crying when he calls your name, Jolene And I can easily understand How you could easily take my man But you don't know what he means to me, Jolene Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene I'm begging of you please don't take my man Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene Please don't take him just because you can You could have your choice of men But I could never love again He's the only one for me, Jolene I had to have this talk with you My happiness depends on you And whatever you decide to do, Jolene Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene I'm begging of you please don't take my man Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene Please don't take him even though you can Jolene, Jolene

jerkman2030 : Jesus, I'm scared Jolene might take my man now.... and I'm not gay

Ten Craziest : one time my friend sat down at my drum set and said "I'm gonna play a white stripes song" and he began to just hit the bass drum slowly. Then he said "I'm gonna play a def leppard song" and he began playing with just one hand. It was great

Avlynn : The emotion he sings with and the way he moves is hypnotizing. I can't stop watching it especially after 2:35.

Diablo GAGA : The concerts looks like 1969 - 1970 footage, obviuosly this is from 2003

thewoodsystyle : My daughter is named Jolene and she head bangs to this version. She's 4. Rock on sweetheart

Z MILI : It's like if jack is expressing roughly what Dolly was too gentle to show and was hidden underneath her sweetness

Jack Rockwell : The amount of emotion in this version of this song is almost too much to take.

Chris van Adrichem : This is the beauty of jack if you ask me. No perfection. Raw and emotion. And i prefer that in every way. Thank god for Jack

Elena Reed : I believe Jack when he's screaming his pain!  Looped this through for a half hour, getting more depressed each listen at the pure desperation conveyed through his pleading voice, esp with a slant of a man losing his male love irrevocably to a woman.  His world is shattered if Jolene decides to disregard him as a worthy person and fill her own immediate needs.  aargh.

Igor Brezovic : It's not about the sex of the singer... It's about emotion..

Tyrone Tucker : omg! Eric Draven is alive and well

Laura S : No Doubt Jack White is amazing... but the White Stripes where the White Stripes because of Jack and Meg

Sinead3rd : Jesus Christ every time this gives me the creeps. I just can't understand why people criticise this version so much: white stripes do a certain kind of music (which is not pop and it takes a specific taste to be able to appreciate it, as I see it), and Jack's voice suits it perfectly. They covered this song coming from a completely different genre and interpreted in their own chords. If you don't like Jack's style good for you, but just think about how much it takes to reach that emotion and sing through it like he does. I think just that is remarkable. That being said, if you don't like it just listen the original country version and chill!

Manwecaen : One man on the guitar, one girl on the drums ... and such a range of intense, great songs ... I adore the White Stripes

Julia Aho : i listen to this practically every day

Triggering Trolls : I remember when Dolly Parton hit the chart with this iconic song, and it has always had a special place in my heart. I clicked on this version ready to defend and fight anyone ready to challenge me. For that I apologize to the artist. It takes a special kind of talent, heart, and of course soul to pull this song off. This guy made me feel a new level of pain I didn't know about. I have been exposed to some of the most gut wrenching pain, and didn't think it possible to feel anything new. I'm glad I always watch a video before I open up my big comment. This guy made me bleed a whole new level of pain. So, listen before criticizing this artist. A big Thanks to the Beatles, Ozzy, Queen, Nirvana, Lemmy, and last but not least... all the 80's band's.! I didn't think music could ever be revived. Being overly synthesized crap. This guy pulled it off, and then some.

Serenah Rat : Better then these Pentatonix & Miley Cyrus covers. Dolly Parton is queen though.

THE 1 : Dolly would be proud

NELSON X : This guy has taken a great old song that deservedly was a hit in it's day and turned it into a monster that gives me the goosebumps. Fantastic.

Boisey : The only person who could make a plastic guitar sound so good

Lewis Tyler : This cover is sick especially when the chorus kicks in.

Jess Alvarez : Marry me Jack! 😍

Charles Holland : he's singing this like he's going to an imminent, unwanted death. so much emotion and feeling

Styx Zero : You can almost touch the emotions coming out of this song. It is intoxicating. This song is a masterpiece as far as I am concerned.

Anonymous Musician : 3:17 You can actually hear his guitar slightly detune from the force of his playing. What passion! Absolutely incredible!

pocahoetrans : Every time I listen to this I make this weird face as if im gonna cry but Im actually just feeling the emotions he sends DAMN JACK HOW ARE YOU EVEN REAL

Clyde Pack : this song made my mom like jack white!!!!!

Sage Cody : Can I please live in this sound forever

itsnotthesamething : As a little girl I used to hear Dolly sing this song. Loved it! But I ain't never heard anything like this version!!! Dannnng! You go, Jack White! You made it heart wrenching!

Dylan Kaster : Dolly Parton's version was ok but what makes Jack Whites version better is he sang with full emotion like how people would really react if someone was cheating on them.

rusheil francis : what a sad song. imagine having to talk to a Jolene, like, please dont walk in and wreck my life because i need to be with this man who, me knowing well and good, would rather be with you if he could. Fighting and desperately pleading to be second place in the life of the man you love and that being okay. So much levels of sad and beautiful. also. great remake.

Camillo Beppone : He is genius taking this old country & western stinker and turning it into this beautiful work of art. I love Jack White

Kuroikoll : Still one of best covers ever even in *2018-2019*

Bob Bigsby : Dolly had the best quote ever, " it costs a lot of money to look this cheap"!

Benjamin Davis : Best cover to ever exist..

ralf mitsch : The best version of Jolene I ever heard!

John Dou : It's like his voice has a whammy bar attached to it

satanic cyanide69 : This entire video has some really enigmatic badass eerie vibe.

Terry Malone : Wow Jack White can do no wrong.

hybrix1337 : Possibly the greatest cover song in rock history. I come back to this video annually and every time I'm left speechless. Jack White is immortal.
