•icarus•イカルス : God... These guys were so ahead of their time, not only in their sound but this whole setup! Although Live At Pompeii floped at the time if it was released only 10 years later during the MTV era this would have been a giant success!

Dharm Khalsa : When I was in high school around 1981 or so, 4 of us went to the local drive in theater (Hendersonville TN) to see this movie. We were the only ones there and so no one was working the ticket window. So we went and parked in the center of the parking lot and then took every speaker (100's of them) and set them on the ground pointing towards the car and sat out on the hood with our own surround sound. It was grand.

evilmoif : Those Roman ghosts never had it so good

Joshua : Making history inside of history.

JL Chamberlain : David Gilmour, the king of note bending.

Joshua Bennett : This may sound stupid.... this is my favorite version of echoes.

fuck off you twat : Nick Mason is such an underrated drummer

Sardonicuss Evocotus : Hah. No one here will remember this but.. This concert film was released in a very few theatres in the 1970's. I saw it at an obscure little theater (the only one in the state that was showing it) at a midnight movie deal. It was not advertised, but the word was that this was the first performance held in this arena of any kind in 2000 years (since Pompeii was buried under tons of ash and lava). With that in mind, my friends and I consumed many mushrooms and went in at midnight for a truly transcendental experience. Think of that....2000 years. Pink Floyd were gods.

Mars22 : The whole song is a masterpiece but the whole part starting at 6:27 is the coolest piece of music ever filmed for me, the tracking shot, the scenery, the groove, just phenomenal

Donald J. Trump : I can't stop watching this please send help

Rodrigo L.D : This song is the greatest piece of art of the history of mankind.

Gustavo Driotez : I thought that Zeppellin was the greatest band in Rock history it I was wrong.,

Lars Roumen : This has to be one of the greatest moments in the history of music generally

The moon shines bright : I was trying to rank my favourite Pink Floyd songs of all time . Only problem is every time you hear another Floyd song , that is also brilliant !! And God created the heavens , earth , man ... and Pink Floyd !!

David Perez : Overhead the albatross Hangs motionless upon the air And deep beneath the rolling waves In labyrinths of coral caves An echo of a distant time Comes willowing across the sand And everything is green and submarine And no one called us to the land And no one knows the where's or why's Something stirs and something tries Starts to climb toward the light Strangers passing in the street By chance two separate glances meet And I am you and what I see is me And do I take you by the hand And lead you through the land And help me understand The best I can And no one called us to the land And no one crosses there alive No one speaks and no one tries No one flies around the sun Almost everyday you fall Upon my waking eyes Inviting and inciting me To rise And through the window in the wall Come streaming in on sunlight wings A million bright ambassadors of morning And no one sings me lullabys And no one makes me close my eyes So I throw the windows wide And call to you across the sky

Keyser Söze : Not sure why ppl (even ex-bandmates) criticize Rogers bass playing.. I mean, he wasn't a funkmaster, slappin grooves, or a virtuoso like Billy Sheehan or Geddy Lee , but Rogers playing is solid, inventive, unique, driving, and he can funk it up a tad, when called upon, as good as any other Floyds.. (His lyrical approach is second to none IMO but Im mainly speaking on playing right now) Those octave hammers, and those step-up bass "walks" he does are all his own ...

Classic Classics : 2:50 Hillary Clinton

Aura Blaze : Has the thought, "The quality of music today pales in comparison to that of the 1960s or ‘70s" ever crossed your mind? Of course it has. It is no different for me. As a musician with a penchant for all things retro, I have taken it upon myself to reintroduce today's musical audience to the vibes of an era that defined the essence of Freedom, that donned valiantly the multicolored adornments of Unfettered Consciousness. If discovering new music is your trip, come and have a listen to Aura Blaze. You won’t regret it!

andy s : My friend turned me onto the group and the album Meddle and then like 3 months later he says " hey they just put out a new album. lets go get a copy. so off we went to pick up our copy of Dark Side of The Moon. The rest is history.

shadowdance4666 : 6:25 the super secret bass jam begins

Tony Murphy : This shows Floyd at their absolute best both musically and togetherness. 100% Fantastic

Giorgi Tsintsabadze : they stand alone ... no other band can reach them, even king crimson and yes ...

Shehroze khan : OMG I'm listening 1st time !!! What a biggest song

ade lewis : Strangers passing in the street By chance two separate glances meet And I am you and what I see is me .......... poetry !!

Dan Calestini : Richard ( rick) wright and David Gilmore what at a pair their vocals are just amazing Gilmore on guitar back in the 70s WOW nick mason on drums seriously this was a super band if I didn't mention watars he needs no introduction

Evan Tapper : Watching twelve David Gilmours jam simultaneously might be the highlight of my life.

Shawn Connolly : This entire film is simply brilliant, but this one in particular is special...has such a Kubrick feel to it.

LeatherCladVegan : Ah OK. *Now* I understand why the Beastie Boys were paying homage to this, in their video to 'Gratitude'. Makes perfect sense.

Daniel Drumm : They had the foresight to haul a MCI 24-track recorder and properly mic all the instruments against that makeshift amp wall. The result is a clean, perfectly mixed recording that sounds as if it could have been made yesterday.

Levent Aslan : I had watched this clip when I was young on Turkish (official) Television (TRT) and the year was, I can’t remember exactly, 1982 or a few years more. I recorded on a Betamax cassette because I was ready for this program from previous day. Then I watched on and on until our Sony player was broken. After that I transferred the clip on to a CD or DVD this time until you tube had been developed  Thank you Pink Floyd, thank you Sony and all the technology that gives us this chance. The only thing I can say about Pink Floyd, once you listen to them you never give up listening. And this, ‘Echoes’ is a real masterpiece. There are too many songs but nothing better.

wagner fernandes : Alguem do BRASIL?

Mirko Visi : Just imagine the people living in Pompeii back in 1971 hearing Pink Floyd's music played by that very band echoing from the historical site while walking in the streets or sitting on the sofa in their houses. That must have been mind-blowing

jeng : wtf is this dude this is awesome !

Real-Time Car Travel : Don't forget to have eggs, sausage, chips and beans and a tea after watching.

primo esempio : Fantastico sublime meraviglioso

Udo Zander : I am now 66 years old - and Pink Floyd is still the best for me - pure goose bumps .....

Ashwin kumar : The groove is powerful

All Stuff Tech : This is such a bad-ass video both musically and visually. The way the camera pans into the back of the amps and speakers just as the hard base starts is awesome. When I see Nick Mason's face as he is drumming, he has got to be micro-dosing LSD (at the time). I think that is why this event is "unflawed." Micro-dosing LSD or "shrooms" makes one capable of incredible behaviors. I can't even count how many times I have watched this video. Truly unreal:-). Thank you!!!

turntableterrorist : you know a band has reached god tier performing at a ancient place like this

Shine Varghese Daniel : Those 10 minutes went by so fast...

Grace Sangi : This is the greatest song ever and the best video ever!

Y M : This is a masterpiece!

Hasslein Curve : Pink Floyd. Such wonderful vocals!! Dave Gilmour, Richard Wright, &....yep...Dave & Richard.

swatter 521 : I like this version better then the album...........

Documentos del Motor : Grandes!!

Roberto Masini : Epic and evocative as the location.

johnny zell : Overhead the albatross hangs motionless upon the air And deep beneath the rolling waves In labyrinths of coral caves The echo of a distant time Comes willowing across the sand And everything is green and submarine And no-one showed us to the land And no-one knows the where or whys But something stirs and something tries And starts to climb towards the light Strangers passing in the street By chance two separate glances meet And I am you and what I see is me And do I take you by the hand And lead you through the land And help me understand the best I can And no-one calls us to move on And no-one forces down our eyes And no-one speaks and no-one tries And no-one flies around the sun Cloudless everyday you fall upon my waking eyes Inviting and inciting me to rise And through the window in the wall Come streaming in on sunlight wings A million bright ambassadors of morning And no-one sings me lullabies And no-one makes me close my eyes And so I throw the windows wide And call to you across the sky

Quentin Sciascia : Gods Nick Mason looks like hes just totally enjoying himself on those drums

George fisher : No other band/singer has the mind too write as pink floyd..I am 23 went to a tribute band of pink floyds last year only ever hearing comfortably numb and another brink in the wall I was so overwhelmed with how this band made me feel by listening to there 10 minute intros and such poetic lyrics pink floyd will always be a part of me!!!
