BrokamaGay : I love Jane Curtin, she was wonderful on 3rd Rock

gutz1981 : "When you're on your back's, the meter is running!" Ha ha.

Violet Hunter : Well just to memorize those lines would have been insane enough lol

Keith Purdue : This was a brilliant ongoing bit, never equalled.

Dominick Izzo : Would SNL even run a skit like this today?

INTERNETWORK : I always loved how, after his barrage of eviscerating insults, she smiles at the camera and says "That's the news..."

Thomas Crown : Back when SNL cared about comedy and not politics.

Sir Growalott : Class stuff.

Curt Christensen : why can't real debates be this much fun ???

Michael Johnson : Dan Akroyd is freaking brilliant here so good.

Traversable Mgtow : 1979 comedy is today's reality .

Mr. E Nigma : France. We come from France.

Tennessee girl : Oh please keep putting these older clips on here. This is one of my favorites. Put Eddie Murphy's on here too

gutz1981 : My god, even now this is super relevant. All you have to do is change the name Lee Marvin to any modern day male celebrity and the story would be exactly the same. But damn is this still funny all these years later.

WestLAGuy : Nearing the end of an incredible decade., this bit defines the time so well. Pushing the edge, freedom to express opinions without fear of censure, respect for the individual thought and condemnation for those who would restrict, isolate and ultimately banish anyone who didn't do as they did and say it as they demanded it to be said.  Was it perfect? With gas rationing, hijackings, cult movements, Astro turf, jeans sent to the cleaners, and a president telling the City of New York to "drop dead", obviously not. But 1979 is light years removed from 2018 thanks to the Orwell-fulfilling madness currently being employed by the left and its intellectual "press gangs found at former Free Speech bastions of the '60's like Berkeley , the collective greed and incompetence of both political parties in Washington, and the anti-feminist/Stalin Show Trials inspired intolerance that so often renders "Off With His Head" verdicts based on the merest existence of an accusation at groups like # Me Too. Successfully linking 2018 to 1979 when this bit was performed live on SNL, underscoring the obvious conclusion that we as a country had a sense of humor then, is about as likely as Donald Trump resigning for the good of the country and Hillary Clinton returning the over $21.7 Million she got from Wall Street, Big Pharma and Big Oil for her private speeches she gave behind closed doors between her Sec of State gig and running for President.

A C : I miss the good'ol days, when SNL was actually funny.

Kal McCahan : I saw that live and it's as funny now as it was then. The first cast was truly the best cast.

HeyIt'sCaden : I live for this

Jason M : Dan Akroyd's finest moment, and a flashback to when SNL was really fucking good.

colton dougherty : I would love to see a snl were jane hosts. And bring dan aykroyd back for a sort were they both join the new weekend up date crew. It would be funny. I could totally see Colin defend jane when Dan calls here an ignorant slut. It would be epic

Number Runner : ....lmfao...."hop from bed to bed with the frequency of a cheap ham radio"....

D Gray : So SNL started out as a comedy show?

Robert Herrera : What happened to snl

Disgraceful Student : "You won't see this on TV! Damn political correctness!" The Office literally did black face and got away with it I don't think TV has lost its touch

Green : I love Dan Aykrod!!

MickyAvStickyHands : Today NBC would cave and the writer of that would be fired.

Snugglenuts Sir : snl used to be funny? interesting

Kathleen Burgess : Still funny after all these years!!!

victor odom : "slunk meat"

texasaggie85 : Holy crap this is straight up savagery! Lol

CPLRedmond : Gone are the days of this great line of humor.

Stephen Palmer : man 70s women were sexy.

Darryl Banks : bagged out, dried up slunkmeat

Tobi Makkura : Holy shit, savagry from the 70's still savage today

Casey Todd : I miss when SNL was funny...

Lisa Smith : This is why I don’t watch SNL now The 70s and early 80s so good Now so, So Bad.

Noah : Depression? Isn’t that just a fancy word for feeling bummed out?

ConManliness : You'll never see this on SNL today. Pretty sad.

None None : Dan Aykroyd. Delivery, profesionalism, and comedy.

Efren Vargas : Thank you, easier times. thank you again. I love it.

Leland Unruh : I'm glad SNL posts these clips, but they do serve to illustrate just how terrible the show is today.

CatfishHunter61 : When Jane and Dan use to do the update they were always some of the best moments on SNL....

Artem Remezov : Wow! I forgot that SNL could be real and funny.

OtakuD50 : You could totally get away with this now, but SJWs scare me, so I'm going to pretend the opposite is true.

Loki D. Wolf : People are going that you don't see comedy like this nowadays. You couldn't have this on TV. Well, maybe not prime time but it's definitely hardcore comedy out there. Have you all not heard of Bill Burr, Dave Attell, Anthony Jeselnikor or even Louis C. K.? What about Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman and Lisa Lampanelli? They all go pass anything politically correct. And they're vocal about their right to go across that p.c. line. And what I love about them, even if you don't like that, is they're unapologetic.

Ken Pudsey : I've always liked Jane, she's great!

gozepplin : In today's world where censorious a fool like Trevor Noah is a comedy icon, this would never see the light of day

LWCReaper : Dan aykroyd needs come out of retirement

Rushi Patel : This is gold!!

redalrt4 : Now this is why I never missed an SNL episode back then. It's been said that good comedy is based on an element of fact, as opposed to one's political point of view. The latter will certainly not be funny to at least half the population. That is at least one reason why SNL is only a shell of its former self.
