Sarina Garcia : Jesus the people that made Betty boop were so ahead of their time... The movement when the ghost is dancing is so smooth..

Vitor Fonseca : Lyrics of the song: Folks, I'm goin' down to St. James Infirmary, See my baby there; She's stretched out on a long, white table, She's so sweet, so cold, so fair. Let her go, let her go, God bless her, Wherever she may be, She will search this wide world over, But she'll never find another sweet man like me. Now, when I die, bury me in my straight-leg britches, Put on a box-back coat and a stetson hat, Put a twenty-dollar gold piece on my watch chain, So you can let all the boys know I died standing pat. An' give me six crap shooting pall bearers, Let a chorus girl sing me a song. Put a red hot jazz band at the top of my head So we can raise Hallelujah as we go along. Folks, now that you have heard my story, Say, boy, hand me another shot of that booze; If anyone should ask you, Tell 'em I've got those St. James Infirmary blues.

Thecommander248 : Someone pointed that the background follows the song and now I can't unsee it.

Love : How did you find this in such fantastic quality?

FaserTazer : I swear this animation is better than some of the cartoons today.

leah k. : I absolutely love his voice.

John Brice : This an example of the New York City animation style in the early 1930's. The NYC animation studios animators (most who were self-taught) used straight ahead animation. You started animating at the beginning of a scene and just kept adding drawings until the scene was finished. Disney animators (most of whom were graduates of art schools) planned their scenes ahead of time and the animator would only draw the key poses. Then an assistant would draw the in-between drawings. The advantages of the NYC method are that it produces wonderfully smooth animation. The disadvantages are that it is expensive, next to impossible to plan ahead of time, only one animator can do one scene, and the sound has to be added in post-production, not pre-production. This is why the Disney method is the one used by every studio today.

B.J. Roes : 2:13 HEY BOY HAND ME OVER ANOTHER SHOT OF THAT BOOOOOOOOOOZE 👻🥃

Hidden Vision : put a 20 dollar gold piece on my watch and chain so all the boys know i died standing pat he could of wrote this song today!

Ricky Wheeler : Just started playing Cuphead, and I gotta say the developers did an amazing job recreating this style of animation for the game.

Dick Trickle : yeah i like ghostemane too

Luis Gimon : This song has a double meaning: Its not just about a guy who misses his dead girl; it's about a girl who's dead to him. His funeral requests are how he wants her to talk about him "when he dead" to her.

Briana Martinez : This is low key really dark with a deeper meaning it’s not just a cartoon

Spaced out kid 1 : I love how fluid these animations are. Imagine how long it took back then.

Jack Kraken : The divorce from Popeye did not go well for olive.

meachy : There's going to be a generation of children that think this is a bonus stage to a video game.

Windinz : Anyone else here from a minus8 animation?

Jooheon's Dimples : I SAID "MOM HAVE YOU EVER WATCHED BETTY BOOP?" MY DAD SAID "SHII.. BETTY BOOP IS OLDER THAN MOM.. BETTY BOOP COULD WATCH MOM." LOL WAT!!!???

Monochrome Fox : The quality of the rotoscoping on the dance sequence is absolutely incredible holy fuck

TetrisClock : This is easily my favorite version of St. James Infirmary Blues.

Carlton Buckle : It’s 2018 and this is still amazing. All I can say is bravo...bravo👏🏽

Shane : It's too bad cartoons today aren't are dedicated anymore. They're always trying to find the cheapest way around every corner.

Dominic Platt Pietrovito : Oh my goodness. The art is phenomenal.

josephm026 : This was the only outlet for the pessimism of mankind back then. They didn't have the fancy meds we do to keep shit like this out of our heads.

That one Deer : As much as I'm wanting to take 3D animation I love these old rubber hose drawn on pencil and paper animations. Which is why I'm taking up animation/art.

D1N0 ALG : Almost forgot to watch this today
