The Rockstar Energy Drink / Nexen Tire Toyota Corolla Hatchback is the latest competition build from the Hawthorne, California, based team. Team owner Stephan Papadakis is a legend of sport compact racing who began building his reputation in the 1990s with the first front-wheel drive, tube-chassis drag car in the U.S. The team earned multiple records and championships in the discipline, turning in elapsed times and trap speeds previously thought unattainable in front-drive drag cars. Papadakis' successes in front-wheel drive were matched by his efforts in rear-wheel drive when he campaigned a Honda Civic that became just the fifth car to join the NHRA's Sport Compact 200 MPH club

Comments

Dean Friesen : I love the way you describe every piece as it was being taken off.......top notch education. Thank you!

Josh Ribeiro : “The engineers have simplified everything down again” “The timing chain is in between the transmission and the engine”

styledliving : A Toyota with green coolant from the factory means, IT'S NOT A TOYOTA.

DCassidy42 : The comment section is the international meeting for mechanical engineers.

Jovem Dinâmico : Its cool to watch Jonny Sins's and Vin Diesel's cousin working on this engine

npc 117 : Timing chain in the most unreachable place yep sounds about bmw

Dodo M : This is like open heart surgery....for free. Thanks man, you're beyond pro

Lee Wang : Scotty Kilmer always complains about intake manifolds being plastic.

Pandamonium Eli : YouTube done right. Thanks for taking the plunge on a fresh motor and making a very informative, well-structured video!

Dustin Hutchinson : You do a great job with your videos. Good information Good tempo Good production Thank you.

Arnold : Most of us cannot put back together a LEGO structure..

Pete Vogel : "Timing chain is in rear" What I heard "timing chain tensioner changes will be very expensive if you buy one"

Simple Rick : JerryRigEverything: today we're gonna teardown the new Samsung Galaxy A50 PapadakisRacing : today we're gonna teardown the 2020 Toyota Supra engine

Tim W : Very professional video, great pacing and narration. Looking forward to more of your content. Subscribed.

Jonas V : What is there to thumbs down about for this video? It’s done perfectly

jean luc Dubinator : Your knowledge of engines is astonishing, this video was like being in school. Learned so much in such a time period. The timing chain setup reminds of my old VW VR6.

phw340 : Saw the thumbnail and thought, “Vin Diesel wrenching on a Supra engine???” Have to put my reading glasses on! Great video to watch! Thanks!

Jack Duno : _The timing chain is located at the rear of the engine._ ...having 2.9 Vortec flashbacks

Daniel Santos : The real Toreto tearing down an engine, wow.

Tamiya Tyro : The amount of plastic used is alarming. BMW refuses to learn from past mistakes.

bmh67wa : Too many plastic parts. Those are going to be expensive to replace when they break.

Zeg Zeazon : *AMAZING* *_t e a r d o w n!_* You just made it so easy like they're *_Lego_* pieces. _Looking forward to the building back episode._

Steve Steve : Brilliant engine. Although, I’ve noticed a lot of planned obsolescence such as the one piece intercooler intake manifold and the sealant on the head gasket. Sneaky BMW. Sneaky....

magzire : Not in a million years would I be able to put that back together

Dr Enigma : Damn that video was over extremely fast,....thankyou for the upload....super sick

ZeroFX32 : Thank you Vin Diesel before gym, for showing us this awesome engine!

Mark Rhoden : As the owner of a BMW m140i 2019 model seeing the engine stripped like this and you telling us how well built and well engineered it is so comforting and the knowledge that it could handle more power is just great. Really enjoyed this video thank you

E-Nonymouse : BMW k1600 Motorcycle engine also uses the ECU to coil/plug design too.

Some Guys On XBL : Renowned engine builder: compliments engine People on the internet: sHoUlD bE a 2jZ

Ryan : How much less does it weigh than the internet’s favorite boat anchor?

William Tye : That’ll be a breeze to work on, at the dealership.

Dodge Hemi : do these DI motors need walnut blast ? or is like Camry and fuel detergent cleans behind valves

Suphad Thundee : Take it all apart and put back together You are Great !

QurttoRco : Internet experts: This engine is POS. Actual race car builder: I'm pretty impressed Says a lot doesnt it

Ixodes : Well lit, clear shots. Rapid-fire exposition with no extraneous blather. Content, as usual, excellent. Such a joy to learn from your videos.

MozzaBurger : I'm glad I chose this video over Pornhub. This is way more stimulating. Joke aside : superb edition and very informative. Keep it up !

Jetz Gaming : Excellent video. People that sook about the timing chain don't realise that it lasts 3x as long as a belt on a 2J. So even if it costs more to replace, you rarely have to do it! Fantastic engine design, much nicer than the boat anchor 2J

Todd Clark : Hey thanks for sharing this look forward to seeing you make that horsepower happened

brayden cooper : I love how the car is new enough that he tore it apart and is now probably one of the most experienced mk5 mechanics

3d Smack : Only 500 miles on engine and the pistons look like manifold injected pistons with 80K on it, BAD design for reliability but good for fuel economy.

Lukas : I've been told that the cracking method for rod caps was actually invented by BMW for use in one of their motorcycle engines some 20-30 years ago!

John Garvey : this engine would be fun in a concept carbon fiber body/ chassis. and some forged titanium parts.

Iver Bigun : Wow that was so informative, as an ex car mechanic and aerospace engineer I found this very interesting, thank you for posting.

Nabs Zidane : I wish all people complaining about bmw developped the supra’s engine could watch and understand this video!

Philip : Nice video, are you going to tune it? bigger turbo etc? // best regards from Sweden!! #PapadakisRacing

kwigybo 69 : I have zero interest in this sorta stuff but that was absolutely brilliant Informative and interesting Just subscribed Looking forward to the rebuild

Injo TV : toyota supra, nice car guys

Thechristopherryan : : world you can’t put a intercooler inside the manifold Bmw - hold my schnitzel.

Andy Hemeon : How could this design possibly be good for maintenance??
