Comments from Youtube

FLOWER PUNK : LET'S ARGUE: Single-race people can't "get" logic

Whang! : "Baroque" I don't think that word means whatever she thinks it means.

feroui hamza : the only men who can get lana are radiohead

zamba : to be fair you have to have a very high level of estrogen to understand lana del rey

Criley : *straight male critics LIKE YOU*

Yung Jigglypuff : “R&B is more sexualized and has masculine friendly production” some of these tumblr chicks out of control

Tony Harrison : To be fair, you need a multi millionaire father and a fetishisation of poor, small town American to really understand Lana Del Rey's music.

Alexis Diaz : Melon spent 2 minutes of a 12 minute video just bodying a lana del rey fan account

Natasha B : "Women do things" -Anthony Fantano 2k18

ɪᴍᴀɢɪɴᴀʀʏꜰᴀɴʙoʏ : Melons can't "get" human music.

Suzi Visser : To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Lana Del Rey. The writing is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of literature concepts most of the references will go over a typical listener’s head. There’s also lana’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into her stage persona- her personal philosophy draws heavily from Vladimir Nabokov’s literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of this music, to realise that they’re not just intellectual- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Lana Del Rey truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Lana’s existential catchphrase “My Pussy Tastes Like Pepsi Cola,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Americana themes. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Lizzy Grant’s genius wit unfolds itself through her music. What fools.. how I pity them. And yes, by the way, i DO have a “Fuck me Daddy” tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the daddies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel sweaties.

Ned Kuczmynda : ugh, when is anthony going to stop looking at everything through rose colored glasses

Comthony Mentano : Who tf said the melon is fat? Some people have different body compositions but that doesn't mean theyre fat. Melon most certainly is healthier than 90% of the world.

M M : If you've ever seen Breakfast at Tiffany's, then you "get" Lana Del Rey.

Mom's Spaghetti : You know the comment hurt when he goes on a minute-long rant about his lifestyle and habits

luke666808g : I heard a Chinese metal band called Black Kirin, even though they're really good I was like "This is not okay! They're not allowed to make white music!" Now I have to travel to China and protest their shows and call them Nazis, and throw red paint at anyone who enters the venue.

Biishop : Varg had stabbed a band mate to death and was discovered with plans to blow up a church. While I do find his music to be good I don’t want to be associated with him.

I agree but, : LANA SIT ON MY FACE!

DogBeef : Her username is "Lana Fan Fiction" 😂😂😂

Jewlz Cartagena : Lana del Rey fan fiction makes me cringe harder than Vanilla Ice giving a gender studies class.

Dood Bro : I love how Melon just rips the Lana person apart.

Goldenxkarma 123 : Melon where are your eyeballs

Julia Anderson : I think they "get" her music, it just doesn't particularly appeal to masculine men. And yes, I'm using stereotypes. Of course not all masculine men dislike her.

dreaminginnoother : cultural appropriation. lol. It's stupid in every domain, but I personally love variety in music, and the best way to get a huge variety is to imitate others from various backgrounds. Makes for more interesting music.

Chaser Chaser : anthony is nicki manaj and reviewbrah is cardi b

Seth Bishop Music : what the hell is *masculine music production* LMAOO

PWNED5805 : I could honestly listen to you talk about music hours. Have you ever thought about doing videos that weren’t necessarily reviews but like points of discussion in different genres of music or music as a whole?

Terror Van : My boy ain't fat. He swol and thicc and dont let anyone tell ya different Anthony.

CheesecakeLasagna : The men can't get certain feminine music is bs, take The Weeknd as an example. He's been a fan of her since day 1 or so and he looks hella straight to me. It's an imagery preference thing. I'm a lady and even though I enjoy Lana's music, I can't really get behind her "daddy issue" thing.

Carter Sheehan : The Cardi B thing is true bc Nicki Minaj made it that way. Before, there were TONS of rap females co-existing (Lil Kim, MC Lyte, etc) but when she came in she monopolized it and became catty with anyone who tried to opposed her by being her same gender.

Kirko : Drake is not a cultural appropriator due to the fact that Caribbean culture is heavily intertwined with black culture in Toronto. Making Dancehall music is paying homage to all of the people of Caribbean descent who populate Toronto. Its not a fad or a trend, Dancehall is all you hear in most urban Toronto clubs. Drake has had dancehall inspirations in his music since his debut album. If anything he is the reason we are seeing Dancehall's influence so frequently throughout mainstream pop.

Big Nook : I enjoy lana del rey she makes me cry and feel things i love her

Cashew Chestnut : WRONG. antnee is a MELON

AH Productions : I love Lana. Everyone has a different taste. You like Radiohead, i do too. You like Death Grips, I don't.

Carlos : The people who complain about cultural appropiation always remind me of those who say you can't wear a band t-shit unless you've listened to x amount of songs.

Venenoso : You’re not a man you’re a melon

Sharlenn La : I feel like Lana Fan Fiction is a bit biased

Lucas Bicske : This is the best segment of the channel

Jasper Paolo : A large part of Lana’s appeal is that she’s not afraid to say that she’s an accessory to her man, she’s not really an independent woman. A lot of women (and some men) feel this way but are too afraid to say it due to the feminist backlash. So Lana’s music is an outlet for these people.

REVEN6E : Melon more feminist than these Tumblr thots.

A2BS : can we have a "cringing with Lana Fan Fiction" episode

I'mAtTheBridge : I appreciate Lana Del Rey.

lainepeezy : As far as the Cardi B and Nicki Minaj comment I think it has to do a lot with how similar they are. They sound similar. They rap similar. They even have a similar appearance and it comes off like Cardi B is emulating Nicki so that's why it seems like they can't coexist. Not just that they are both female rappers.

Deadpanlolli : Anthony have you heard of the Lizzy Grant stuff or the song pawn shop blues? I like the underground stuff better than what makes the final cut on albums a lot of the time.

autumnbreeze : 0:16 Men can't get Lana Del Rey 2:06 ZelooperZ dosen't get enough attention 2:39 Do you think Drake is a culture appropriator? 4:03 Touché Amoré shouldn't be considered screamo 4:17 The experimentation in Burzum's music is overlooked 5:55 The whole concept of Ghost is silly 6:49 How are you vegan and still fat? 7:33 Female rap artists can't coexist 9:52 If not for their image, Misfits would be considered normal punk 10:32 You called Now Only rambling?

8yrsold : I disagree w that person but I disagree with you on how you criticize her lyrically. Sure there are some cliches but those cliches are mixed in with a lot of references to mythology, philosophy, classic film, and there are plenty unique type of lyrics that visualize a certain “aesthetic” that is pretty unique. I also think that she is a huge influence on a lot of pop artists in 2018’s visual aesthetic. One thing I do think though, is that the reason lana’s old old songs and unreleased songs are better lyrically is because she’s releasing “safe” music. There are a lot of exceptions, but, overall, yeah.

Yung Breck : MELON can grow a nice dome "just like the boys can"
