Smash Bros. is one of the biggest video game franchises out there right now. Dozens of tournaments take place on any given weekend all across the US, but in the Southeast, things got so big so fast, the only way forward was down. By 2016 things ground to a halt and the grassroots scene dried up. There are still tourneys going on all over the place, but nothing like what I experienced in 2014-2015. This is simply a look back at that crazy time where the sky was the limit and Smash ruled the Southeastern gaming scene. Music used: Smash Bros. ItsumoListless : At my University, there’s always 2 TVs set up in a lounge at the Student hangout building running Brawl and there’s always a crowd hurdles around the TV. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it free.
